Community Events in Staten Island

Hi Friend!

Can you believe we are heading towards all the holidays, already? Happy October! I hope this season brings plenty of rest & relaxation. Take guilt free rest. We all pay good money to maintain our homes, take a nap in the middle of the day, sprawled across your bed. Binge watch that show you keep skipping over. Follow the rhythm of nature, it’s in place for a reason. While the rest of the world acts like they’ve lost their entire mind, you rest. I promise, you’re not missing a thing.

Friend! October is such an exciting month for me. Hispanic Heritage Month was an absolute vibe. On 10/21, I’ll be celebrating 25 years in healthcare. Twenty-five! Oh goodness, I am so proud of myself for making it this far. I shy away from celebrating myself but I can’t wait to raise a glass to one of my biggest accomplishments.

The following day, 10/22, is my granddaddy’s birthday-the very person who introduced me to science & healthcare when I was just a little person. I can’t thank him enough for being the one to guide me on this journey.

This month, I’ll be speaking at two upcoming events in Staten Island. I’ll be hosting Build A Dream Incubator’s (BADI) Other Stories event, where we will be honoring Motherhood with a capital M. And as a panelist at Eden II Program’s 2025 Annual Conference (at 2:30 pm) alongside some of my favorite people. My fellow business owners are also holding events throughout the season. Information & links are listed below.

October is Safe Sleep & SIDS Awareness Month. Protecting our babies’ safety starts with giving them a safe sleep space & placing them in the right sleep position. You’ll find helpful resources below to learn more about safe sleep.

If you see me around, please don’t hesitate to say hello! I love meeting new faces & connecting with community. If you see someone wearing a doula shirt & has a big floof of hair, that is probably me :)
