What is a doula?

A doula is a trained caregiver that guides birthing individuals & their families, physically, emotionally & informatively during pregnancy, birth & postpartum. We strive to honor our clients' unique vision for their birth experience, guiding them to access their own innate wisdom & infinite inner strength. Doulas embody the art of companioning, a timeless tradition that has nurtured families through childbirth for generations.

A doula is someone who is there to support you regardless of what road you take. You tell me where you want to go & I’ll help you find your way.
— Katie Fleming

Alongside supporting families, I will also mentor new doulas through my Doula Mentorship Program. It’s a way of extending what I’ve learned in 25 years of healthcare & birthwork to the next generation of doulas. If you’re curious about stepping into this work yourself, you can learn more here.
