Mentorship for Aspiring & New Doulas

Twenty-five years in healthcare have shaped how I show up for the people I love, for families, for the professionals I’ve mentored & in building my own doula practice, always with the intention of making care more human, accessible & deeply supportive.

After doula training, I remember thinking, what made me believe I could run a whole business? Whatever confidence I had during doula training started to disappear. Turns out I wasn’t the only one. So many new doulas felt something was missing after they left training. We’d talk about finding mentors, but it wasn’t always within reach. In other fields I’ve worked, mentorship was an automatic, that simple component has always a game changer for me.

Over the past three years I’ve had the honor of working alongside some of the wisest birthworkers in our community. They were the ones that took the time to help me fill in the gaps. With that in mind, I am creating a space for new & aspiring doulas to ask questions, build strong foundations, & grow without burning out.

Early support is what doulas need to stay rooted in this work & build a life that nourishes them, too.

What We’ll Cover

Foundations

• Business registration, workflows, intake forms, website guidance

• You’ll move through my workflows from the consumer’s standpoint, experiencing them just as your future clients would. Then, we’ll work together on how to build those systems for your own practice, so you gain both perspectives at once.

Your Niche

• Clarifying who you serve, shaping offerings, culturally responsive care

Doula Skills

• Revisiting birth support concepts in a new way, includes strengthening advocacy skills, learning the ‘why’ behind comfort measures & pelvic conditioning. Learn more about supporting surgical birth, labor progress & understanding hospital policies. Get more familiar with hospital, birth center & home births

Work/Life Balance

• Packages, pricing, boundaries, time-off & diversifying your income

Financial Foundations

• Payment systems, payment plans, assistance with locating small business grants & health insurance guidance

On-Call Support

• I’ll be your backup doula in NYC if you don’t have one, with on-call support from 37 weeks

• For doulas that live outside of NYC, I’ll be on call with you, offering real time guidance

Continued Guidance

• Text/phone support after our mentorship period ends

Starting from scratch

• I’ll help you build your business so your voice, values & vision align with the clients you serve. Developing your materials from scratch is part of your continued education & commitment to your clients.

There’s a lot we can talk about! Evening & weekend meetings are available.

*This mentorship is deeply personal, fully customizable & offered at a low rate thanks to grant funding. Spots at this rate are limited.

Mentorship Options & Pricing

Aspiring Doula Mentorship – $250

For future doulas who are still training, exploring, or preparing to step into this work.

• Free virtual consultation

• 3 virtual sessions over 6 weeks

• Support navigating doula training programs, certification options, and early steps

• Help identifying your future niche & target audience

• Guidance on initial steps (EIN setup, workflow planning, etc.)

• Support in creating a realistic timeline to begin your work

• Help establishing a price range

Foundational Doula Mentorship - $500

For doulas actively supporting clients or ready to build their business.

• Free virtual consultation

• Customized support for 3 months

• One virtual session dedicated to a deeper dive into pregnancy, birth, postpartum, newborn care & feeding.

• Biweekly Zoom calls (6 total)

• Unlimited email, text & phone support

• If your client goes into labor during our time together, I’ll be on-call with you for phone & text support at no extra cost.

• Virtual for doulas that reside outside of New York City.

  For doulas that are supporting birth in NYC:

• Hybrid option is available (2 in-person meetings in Staten Island)

• I’ll be your backup doula for 3 months :)

in-person Birth Shadowing - $425

*Available for New York City based doulas only

For new NYC based doulas, in-person birth support is available. I’ll join you for your first (or next) birth as your doula shadow. This includes:

• Free consultation

• Unlimited text, email, phone support

• On-call availability starting at 37 weeks

• In-person support during labor, offering guidance & reassurance as you support your client

• A post-birth debrief to reflect, learn & apply insights to your practice

*This can be added to a mentorship package or booked as a standalone experience.
